Bill Covey brings over 42 years’ experience in Edmonton real estate to his team and clients at RE/MAX Excellence Commercial Division. Previously the Director/Broker of Property Sales for the City of Edmonton for 33 years, Bill worked with his teams to market and sell thousands of diverse properties, from newly developed industrial and residential lots, to surplus municipal properties including public roadways, city facilities, contaminated and tax recovered land and buildings. Bill pioneered the successful partnership between the City and the Realtor’s Association of Edmonton, has been an elected Director of the Realtor’s Association of Edmonton, and sat on their Commercial Committee. He was the Association’s appointee to the Greater Edmonton Economic Development Team (GEEDT) for over 16 years; a collaborative organization including Edmonton and its surrounding counties and municipalities focused on building on the Edmonton Region’s economic strengths.
Bill also maintained a close working relationship with members of Canadian Homebuilders Association and Built Green Canada to carry out marketing and sale of City developed residential land to achieve measurably increased sustainability of the homes. His team’s development in Oxford has won The Charles Labatiuk Award for Environmental Innovation and has been a finalist in the Provincial Emerald Awards.
Bill was born in Edmonton and earned a business degree from the University of Alberta.
