Tish is a fifth-generation Edmontonian, but having a passion for human and environmental history, Tish studied abroad and received his Master’s in Archaeology from University College London, and worked as a supervisor on excavations in the Levant, Anatolia, and Central Asia. Tish also worked here at home as a land surveyor and archaeologist. Tish has been involved in local, commercial real estate for the past twenty years, and has his own, diverse, real estate investment portfolio. Tish has run for public office, served on a number of non-profit boards and organizations, and been an integral voice to central Edmonton’s rejuvenation. And, Tish is fluent in English, French, and Russian, as well as being conversant with a few other languages.

What does this mean when working with Tish as an agent? As the concepts of historical preservation, historical methods and materials in construction, sensitivities in historical landscapes, cultural integration, and community engagement are becoming paramount in the world of real estate in our contemporary society, there is no better guide in reconciling development and investment with the needs of community and history than Tish. He is intimately familiar with land development and boundary laws, environmental processes, conservation regulations, and the Crown-corporation-private landowner trichotomy. He personally knows the pressures of holding, owning, improving, purchasing, and divesting of properties, and can steer people around the risks that create anxiety and uncertainty. He is a strong advocate for bringing practical and applicable solutions to invigorating community cohesion and participation in local development and investments. And, he can do this with the broader knowledge of other cultures and their nuances in negotiation, interaction, and transacting in business.

And, he has generated results. Property vendors have received consistently near-asking prices, with one recent transaction at double market value. He has introduced new retail and service customers to invigorate retail plazas and investments. He has negotiated strong lease agreements that make both the landlord and tenant feel confident in the arrangement. He has brought new companies to Edmonton who are interested in downtown spaces. Finally, he has provided several income-generating investments for small and first-time investors and institutions alike. His clients feel proud and happy when they see their income statements and reflect on their positive contribution to community growth and longevity.

He is passionate about historical properties, older community centres, refurbishment and retrofit investments, as well as rural hospitality and business ventures. There is no agent quite like Tish.
